1 · What Gambrel is, and what it isn't

In plain words Gambrel is a booking desk. We show you companies with real openings and put the appointment on their schedule. We don't do the work, we don't employ the person who shows up, and we don't set their prices.

Gambrel is an online booking service that connects homeowners with independent trade contractors — plumbing, HVAC, electrical, irrigation, septic, pools and spas, and lawncare. When you book through Gambrel, the appointment is created directly on that contractor's own schedule.

Gambrel is operated by GAMBREL LLC, a Texas limited liability company (Texas Secretary of State file number 806777481). In these terms, "Gambrel", "we", "us" and "our" mean GAMBREL LLC, and "you" means the person or business using the service. This is an agreement between you and GAMBREL LLC.

Every contractor on Gambrel is an independent business. They are not our employees, agents, partners, or subcontractors. We do not supervise their work, hold their licenses, set their prices, or guarantee their results. The agreement to perform work and to pay for it is between you and that contractor.

We list contractors who tell us they are licensed and insured where their trade requires it, and we may check, but we are not a licensing board. If a license matters to you — and for plumbing, electrical and HVAC it should — ask to see it. Texas license status can be verified with the relevant state board.

2 · If you're booking a company

What booking means. When you pick a time and press the button, that slot is taken on the contractor's schedule. It is a real appointment, not a request for a callback. You'll get a confirmation by email with a link that lets you move or cancel it without calling anybody.

What it costs. Gambrel is free for homeowners. We charge contractors a monthly subscription; we do not take a cut of your job, add a fee to your bill, or handle your payment. You pay the contractor directly, on their terms.

The arrival window. Times shown are arrival windows, not exact appointments. A three-hour window means somebody arrives inside those three hours. Emergencies, weather and traffic move trucks around; if a contractor is running late, that's between you and them, and their phone number is on your confirmation.

Accurate information. Give the real address, a phone number that reaches you, and an honest description of the problem. A contractor who arrives at the wrong house or without the right parts has lost a paid hour, and they are entitled to charge you for a trip that was wasted for a reason you controlled.

Cancelling. Cancel or move any appointment free of charge through the link in your confirmation email, up until the arrival window begins. After that, the contractor's own cancellation and trip-charge policy applies — ask them what it is.

Service area. We only show you companies whose service area covers the address you enter. If your address falls outside it, the booking is refused rather than accepted and quietly dropped.

3 · If you're a contractor listed here

What you're agreeing to. By listing your business you confirm that you're authorised to act for it, that you hold every license, registration, bond and insurance policy your trade and state require, and that you'll keep them current while you're listed.

Honour what you show. The whole promise of Gambrel is that a time on the screen is a time you'll actually keep. Keep your availability, service ZIPs and arrival windows accurate. If you can't make a booked appointment, contact the customer yourself — the same day, not the morning of.

Your listing content. You're responsible for your company name, photo, description, phone number and service area. Don't upload a photo you don't have the right to use, and don't describe your business as something it isn't. We may edit or remove listing content that is inaccurate, misleading, or not yours, and we'll tell you when we do.

Connecting your scheduling software. If you connect a field service platform such as ServiceTitan, you authorise Gambrel to read your availability and create jobs in your account on your behalf. Credentials you give us are encrypted before they're stored. You can disconnect at any time, and we'll delete them when you do.

Customer information. Customer details we pass to you — names, phone numbers, addresses — are for performing the job that was booked. You may keep them in your own system as your customer records. You may not sell them, and you may not add them to a marketing list unless the customer ticked the marketing box or gave you their permission directly.

AI, and where we use it. We use AI to draft a description of your business at sign-up and to draft replies to support email. Three things you should know. It can be wrong — check anything that matters against the screen it came from before you act on it, and treat your own records, not an answer, as the account of what happened. It cannot do anything: it reads, and every booking, cancellation, estimate and invoice is still made by a person pressing a button. And answering a question about a customer means that customer's details are sent to our AI provider to answer it, as the privacy policy sets out — they are not used to train anybody's model, and if you would rather that did not happen for your shop, tell us and we will switch the assistant off for you.

We can remove a listing. We may pause or remove any listing for repeated no-shows, unresolved customer complaints, a lapsed license, non-payment, or anything that puts a customer at risk. Where the situation allows it, we'll call you first.

4 · Subscriptions and billing

In plain words One subscription, one price whatever you run, and it costs you nothing until it lands you a job. Cancel whenever you like and you're not billed again. No contracts, no setup fee, no cancellation fee.

What the booking platform costs. One monthly subscription, the same price whatever size your shop is — there are no tiers and nothing is counted. The current price is shown on the pricing section of our home page and inside your dashboard.

The booking platform is free until we land you a job. We take a card when you sign up and it is not charged then, or when we list you, or at any point before Gambrel has actually landed you work. It is on file so that the day a job does come in there is nothing to chase and nothing for you to do. It stays free until the first job Gambrel found you has been finished — marked done by your technician in the app, or closed out by your office. That job starts your first monthly period, and we email you on the day it happens so it is never a surprise on a statement. If Gambrel never lands you work, you never pay for it. This runs for up to twelve months from sign-up; if nothing has been finished by then, we'll contact you rather than start charging quietly.

A booking on its own is not a job. If the customer cancels, or you go out and she has decided the price is too much, or she has already fixed it herself — nothing is charged. Only work that actually got done starts your billing. We would rather send you a second job than charge you for a trip that earned you nothing.

How we know, and what silence means. If your own scheduling software tells us the job completed, or somebody marks it finished in Gambrel, that is the answer and we ask you nothing. Otherwise we email you a couple of hours after the appointment with one question — did it go ahead? — and two buttons. If we hear nothing we email once more. If seven days pass after the appointment and nobody has answered, we take it as done. We do that because a job nobody ever tells us about would otherwise be free forever, and that is not a business. Saying it did not go ahead is one tap, we never ask for proof, and we do not argue about it — so if you are reading an invoice you did not expect, you were emailed twice and the bill names the job.

A month we send you nothing is a month you are not charged. Your first month starts the day a job we found you goes ahead. After that, if a whole month passes and Gambrel has not landed you any work that went ahead, we stop collecting rather than taking another payment — you do not have to ask, cancel or do anything, and your listing stays exactly where it is. Billing starts again on the day we land you another job that goes ahead, and that day becomes the start of your month rather than whatever date you were on before the gap. We would rather not charge you than charge you for a month we were no use to you.

If we pause your listing, we pause your bill. If we take your listing down because a licence or an insurance certificate has expired, we stop collecting your subscription at the same time. We do not charge for a listing that is not taking bookings. Send us the current document and we'll switch you back on — billing starts again the day your listing does, and that day becomes the start of your month. Appointments already on your calendar are unaffected either way. We don't automatically refund the part of the month you'd already paid for when we paused you; email us and we'll sort it out.

Work you found yourself is never ours to bill. A job your office writes up from a call you took, or one that arrives from your own website through your own API key, does not start your billing however it is scheduled here. Only a customer Gambrel sent you counts. Using Gambrel to run work you already had costs you nothing.

Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; Gambrel never sees or stores your card number.

Cancelling. Cancel either subscription from your dashboard at any time, and you're not charged for it again. You keep what you've already paid for until the end of that period — your listing stays up. We don't refund part of a month you've cancelled, and we don't charge a fee for leaving.

Failed payments. If a card is declined we'll keep you listed while Stripe retries, rather than pulling a working business off the map over an expired card. If it stays unpaid, the listing is paused until it's settled.

Price changes. We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before changing what you pay. If you don't like the new price, cancel before it takes effect.

Truck count. Your tier is based on the number of trucks you tell us you run. If that number grows, update it in your dashboard — we're not going to audit you, but we do expect the number to be honest.

5 · Things you can't do here

Automated or abusive booking is limited by the service and may get an address or connection blocked.

6 · Warranties and liability

Gambrel is provided as it is. We work hard to keep availability accurate and bookings reliable, but we don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that every listed time will be honoured, or that a contractor's work will meet your expectations.

We are not responsible for the work. Any dispute about workmanship, damage, pricing, warranty or conduct is between you and the contractor. That's not a dodge — it's what "independent business" means. We do want to hear about it, because it affects whether they stay listed.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Gambrel's total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid Gambrel in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a homeowner, is nothing, because we don't charge you. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

7 · Disputes

Start by telling us. Most problems are a phone call, and there's a person on the other end of the address below.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be settled between us will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wise County or Tarrant County, Texas, and both sides consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

8 · Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll email you before it takes effect and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Gambrel after that means you accept the new version.
